Veterans Disability Attorneys

The legal team at the Berry Law Firm includes former military service members who fought for their country. A substantial focus of our law firm is advocating for other military personnel who have suffered service-related injuries.

Firm founder John Stevens Berry Sr. has been practicing law since 1965. In addition, he attended the Infantry Officers' course at Fort Benning, Georgia, and the Judge Advocate General's course at Charlottesville, Virginia.

While serving as a captain during the Vietnam War, he received the Bronze Star, the Vietnamese Medal of Honor (Gold), the Cross of Gallantry With Palm and numerous additional awards and decorations. His Vietnam War memoir, "Those Gallant Men," was chosen as the Book of the Month by the Military Book Club.

Mr. Berry Sr. is a fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers and past president of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. Throughout his career, he has defended clients in hundreds of jury trials. He represents veterans in criminal defense cases and veterans disability benefits appeals.

His son and law partner John S. Berry Jr. served as a platoon leader during Operation Joint Forge in Bosnia and later as a company commander in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. John S. Berry was commissioned as an infantry officer and graduated from the U.S. Army Airborne and Ranger Schools. John practices extensively in the areas of veterans disability benefits and criminal defense.
